I’ve been experimenting with recycling single use plastic and I’m very excited with the results! I’ve developed a technique that uses HDPE, the kind of plastic that’s used to make milk cartons. I found a way to dye it different colours, I then cut it into small pieces and layer an assortment of the coloured plastic into a mould. Using a sandwich press to heat the plastic and gently melt it into its final form. Each experiment comes out different and I’m really enjoying this surprisingly painterly technique!
